Pallets - What we do

Pallets - What we do!  We are often asked "Exactly what do you do as a pallet business?"

We do many things in our daily business, but we'll try to explain it here.

Pallets - What we do on a daily basis

We assist companies from small businesses to very large corporations with their pallet needs. What are companies' pallet needs?   It varies from one company to the next.

Some companies need us to help them with the removal of excess pallets. This is where we use our pallet removal / pallet haul off services.  This is where we remove pallets, drums, IBC Totes, Gaylord Boxes, Superbags, etc. This can also include clean up and removal of broken/junk pallets and scraps.

Other companies need to purchase used or refurbished pallets to ship their products on. We provide these pallets to these companies, once again from very small businesses to very large corporations. Other companies might need plastic or steel drums, Gaylord boxes or superbags.

This explains what we do but not really how.  The process involves collecting pallets in various conditions.  The pallets are then taken to our warehouse where they are hand inspected and sent to a repair area or a breakdown area,

The pallets in the breakdown area are not in useable condition and are broke down and sorted into piles of deck boards, runners (stringers) and trash.

Pallet Repair - The Repair Process

The pallets in the repair area are hand inspected and repaired into useable pallets.  This is the labor-intensive part of the process.  Each pallet is pulled from the stack and thoroughly inspected...yes, every pallet. The broken boards and runners are removed, and any loose boards are re-nailed. These pallets may have mismatched boards (however, maintaining very close to the same thickness on the deck boards) and repairs on the runners, but they are very sturdy and useable pallets.  These pallets are then sorted in the Ready Area into stacks of pallets ready for sale based on their grade.  They are graded into stacks of Primes, #1s, or #2s. They may not all be pretty, but they work great and save companies money!

The last step is when we load up our flatbed truck and deliver the pallets (or other requested items) to our waiting customers.  We generally deliver in the St Louis City/County Metropolitain area but often deliver outside that area as needed.

We are also beginning now to do some smaller orders of custom pallet builds on a case-by-case basis.
